It’s not wrong. The first game from the gameboy, Final Fantasy Adventure, was technically a spin-off from the Final Fantasy series, and then became its own franchise after that with the much more fleshed out Secret of Mana and the following “Secret of Mana 2” (Seiken Densetsu 3), which didn’t make it out of Japan unfortunately (fan translated roms did exist though).
You’re missing out bro. This remake in particular is really good. Specially if you played the OG. It is amazing to see the characters and their ultimates in 3D, even the basic attacks look gorgeous when made in their cartoony 3D styke. The story and mechanics are the same still. If you liked the OG Seiken Desentsu 3, the remake is a joy to play again.
I cannot stand the graphics style of modern jrpgs. They went from beautiful pixel art to this cartoon eye sore. It’s such a downgrade. On top of that you have to deal with the atrocious cringe voice overs.

…and still do :)
Well, yes. But no new ones (I assume). I think there’s also a remake for it now but I personally hate the 3D remakes with a passion.
Isn’t there a new official translation in the Collection of Mana?
I have no idea. I haven’t played or downloaded any roms in many many years.
