As someone outside the US who’s reasonably centrist from a global perspective…

The Democrats have been inching further right for decades. Every four years, the party picks one or two “progressive” topics, dials them back a bit, and campaigns on change, while supporting a general platform that is similar to conservative platforms in most countries.

That said, the population seems to be shifting along with them, so campaigning on a centrist platform would get them branded as pinko commie socialists and result in the majority of the population abandoning them.

The problem is, they’re the “not Republicans” party, which covers a huge swathe of political opinions that usually aren’t in agreement with each other.

People are buying these books while they’re still allowed to.

The NDP are really what I think most people want right now, many just don’t know them well enough to realize it. However, some will vote Conservative to keep the Liberals from gaining control, and others will vote Liberal to keep Conservatives from gaining control, and the NDP will continue to be a “third party”.

You can dip things in chocolate. Vanilla doesn’t work well as a coating; it’s more of a flavoring.

That’s why there are candy bars and yogurt bars as well… and peanut butter bars.

It won’t be gone. How else will they make good on their threat of shutting down media companies that say things they don’t like?

That’s the point; the different groups are just as likely to fight each other as the far right, which now has an entire party to itself.

I agree. We can use ML models for identifying possible malware; there should be more than enough examples of bad coding to train an LLM on to identify injection risks, lack of input sanitation, assignment and inheritance issues, and use after free problems. And cleaning THOSE things up in a code base will fix the majority of security issues.

LLMs could also review algorithms looking for logic issues in larger code bases where a human might not be able to hold the entire system in their mind at the same time.

He got non-fascists voting for him too though. I’m totally amazed at how much total misinformation people were fully believing even AFTER the vote. Amazingly, some people think he’s just another Republican that the Democrats are smearing, who got the economy running better when he was in power last than Biden did in his first term, so they voted Trump instead of Biden this time.

I have no idea how there are so many rocks that all those voters had room to live under them.

I just stick a 9v battery on two wires on one end and then test for the voltage with a voltmeter on the other end. If I need to sort out multiple wires, I just feed different low voltages over different wires and test at the other end.

It’s always worked for me :). Wire is wire, as long as you don’t try to run higher wattage over it than it can handle.

Exactly; “Democrats” are the party of the “not Republicans”. With how far right the Overton window has shifted, that covers a LOT of the political spectrum, much of which is in opposition.

Trump doesn’t have issues with weaponizing the justice system; he has issues with being the target of justice.
