    Ai chatbots are sycophants. They will say literally anything if you convince it. You can get them to tell you to kill yourself or others or anything at all. They are only dangerous if you believe them. Unfortunately that’s going to be a huge problem.

      Loneliness is a huge problem in America. Presumably in many other places too.

      Also, when I was a kid in the 80s, I spent hours talking to the extremely limited ELIZA and loved it.

      These are also teenagers, who don’t have the best critical thinking skills. (not that adults don’t do it too)

    I really, really don’t get the character.ai thing at all, but is this really pro-anorexia? I have seen the fat acceptance crowd label anything remotely resembling calorie counting to be pro-eating-disorder

      The first paragraph of the article answers that… it discourages healthy weights and recommends dangerously low calorie diets.

    Well, if anything, it will increase the overall food supply of the world by cutting consumption down
