I have. One good article for you to read is https://forward.com/news/673303/dutch-jews-israeli-attack-politics-antisemitism/
It’s from a well-known Jewish publication, and it mentions that the Israeli soccer fans were very organized and hyped up. Not passive victims.
Excellent article!
This article cites another article from The Forward, a mainstream US Jewish publication that had information that countered the Israeli government narrative.
I don’t think that they will be surprised at whatever horrible things that Trump might do. Very few of them thought that Trump would be better. It was a protest against the treachery of the Democrats.
No, there is no “right” choice here, if you mean something that is going to benefit Palestine and Gaza in the short term. The vast majority of those who voted against Harris knew that Trump won’t be better, but they could not go along with a candidate actively involved in genocide. Plus, they wanted to let the Democrats know that they would pay a price for their treachery. As it turned out, the pro-Palestine vote against Harris had a very clear effect in Michigan and Wisconsin, but it can’t be blamed for her defeat.
What did you think about the article itself? Did you read it?
Hey Jordan, sorry for the delay, but I just saw your comment. I just checked NSFW so we should be good now. Thanks for the heads-up. I didn’t realize the photo was in NSFW territory but I will keep that in mind in the future. Thanks again.

The main problem with Zionism is trying to create a Jewish homeland by kicking out or killing the people who have been living there for the last few thousand years, the Palestinians. That’s been going on for around 100 years, but really took off in 1947-48, when the state of Israel was created. Mass killings, expulsions, land theft. More in 1967, and now even more in 2023-24.
Doesn’t sound like self-determination to me.
Thanks, I appreciate your message. :-)
I just learned about this around 11:45pm ET November 4. I signed up as a swing-state voter, and in 5 minutes got connected with 2 safe-state voters who agreed to vote for Jill Stein as a swap for my (very reluctant) vote for Harris. I feel much better now. :-)

You should look at my post history a little harder. I have posted a lot on Palestine, and very few have centered on Harris. I consider the election choices very painful for anyone who wants to keep Trump out while not supporting an administration which is clearly collaborating in a genocide with Israel. Most likely I will hold my nose and vote for Harris, but I’m not sure yet. If I don’t, I would be voting for Jill Stein.
Sorry if you think that my posting reflects “bad faith”. I have responded to comments a few times, but generally I’m trying to get useful articles out to the Fediverse. (I also post a lot in Mastodon.)
I did write one long comment on voting for Harris, where I stated that it is a difficult decision for me, because each day I get angrier at the Biden/Harris blank check for Bibi. At the same time, I clearly don’t want Trump.
You mean the reaction (downvotes) in the .world instances, right?
I think the contrast reflects the real diversity of opinions, and not lack of stamina. Of course I am disappointed with the downvotes and the hostile comments to anything that might oppose Harris. But the level of discourse in Lemmy is a lot better than Twitter, FB, etc.
So I’m going to keep posting these to as many communities as I can. :-)
Thanks for posting this! It’s a very powerful film.
