  • Cosmic-comp is my second favorite after hyprland so far due to their tiling being quite well thought-out. The problem is, it’s part of a DE and is somewhat cumbersome to configure as a standalone compositor (can be fixed by patching libcosmic, tho), and also it’s quite bare-bones when it comes to features.

Then there’s pinnacle which looks promising, but I haven’t yet tried to daily-drive it.

Also, maybe qtile, which has a Wayland back-end.

  • Well, duh, it’s like reading the fire is hot, then burning yourself touching it, and complaining about it. Why’d you use Debian on a desktop anyways? You can technically use snap/flatpak/appimage/nix/guix/etc to get newer packages, tho. Not sure why, but still.

    Also,

Linux isn’t going TPM2 (yet) which prevents rootkits, bootkits, keyloggers, and malware.

Boot/rootkits – maybe, depending on the setup. Keyloggers and malware – how exactly? The only thing it creates is a chain of trust, and it so happens that most malware, including keyloggers, works in user-space (albeit preferably with elevated privileges). Besides, if you want max security, you want heads + qubes anyway.

I kinda hope smth like that would happen. In such case Russia is likely to strike back, and having 2/3 nations with ambitions of world domination minding their own business for once may prove beneficial for the world in general. Can’t say Chinese government is a godsend with all their censorship, but at least I don’t really remember them baselessly attacking other countries as of recently
