I’d like to know more. How do you actually harness the energy produced by temperatures that high? Is the end goal to figure out how to sustain the reaction at lower temperatures or do we actually have ways to generate electricity from those temperatures without losing most of it to waste?
The desktop was feature complete in 1998. Everything after that was unnecessary complication. I use xfce desktops and it hasn’t changed a bit and I love it.
Apple is by far the most monopolistic tech company you can choose from.
But… While capitalism naturally leads to monopolies, capitalism can’t function under monopolies, so I guess supporting the most monopolistic company is going against capitalism…
Russia waving the white flag would end the war equally as fast
But why would ordering it the other way make the ship explode?
What lack of wealth would require you to read a linked in influencer post?
What if you’re the one that was in charge of adding safe guards?
Trying to get a progressive agenda by only thinking about the Presidency is like trying to win a game with only hail Marys. We need to focus on smaller races in house and build up from there. It would be a stronger and longer lasting change. Even if you’re in an area that doesn’t have any competitive progressives running in the primary, you are allowed to volunteer to help progressive candidates in areas that do.
You joke, but there are people that will actually admit crazy shit like this.

That answers some questions then opens up new ones. How does 50 toll booths make sense for a 4 lane highway? Contactless tolls existed back then and of all the countries, surely China of all places would be able to implement it cheaper and easily get drivers to install the contactless device needed as well as set up the license plate surveillance to enforce it.
The better approach would be to prepare the update in the background and swap out the version on the next start
I think the problem with the term AI is that everyone has a different definition for it. We also called fancy state machines in video games AI too. The bar for AI has never been high in the past. Let’s just call autonomous algorithms AI, the current generation of AI ML, and a future thinking AI AGI.
I’m equating probability with guessing here, but yes there is a nuanced difference.
More like large guessing models. They have no thought process, they just produce words.
The monthly subscription model leaves me feeling so very conflicted. On one hand, it’s a way to get an important piece of safety equipment for less money up front, which is good—there’s certainly cheaper airbag vests, but there’s more expensive ones, too.
No, no, there’s nothing conflicting here. If you need expensive safety equipment that you can’t afford up front there’s already a solution for that, it’s called financing. There is no upside to this, it’s just unethical, irresponsible, and dumb.
They’re super rare. I’ve not gotten one once in decades, whereas I’ve encountered countless viruses on Windows. Linux is more secure, but also it’s just a smaller target. Best way to avoid viruses is to use an OS nobody else wants to use *taps head
So to put this in perspective, at an average cost of 10 cents per LEGO this set would cost over 4 million dollars.
