I had downvoted you but nothing you said is untrue.
No party represents me. The Democratic Party pretends to (to the satisfaction of many, clearly) but it is honestly a joke if you compare us to the rest of the world.
I did make some factually inaccurate statements. Sure.
However, I still stand by my point and my point is strongly reinforced by far less people being excited enough to go vote for Kamala than previous candidates.
But you have to realize just how little the Dems were offering, right? IMO, you have to be fairly wealthy not to see the suffering happening in this country. All the Dems did was tell people that their lived experience was not real and point the finger at Trump. They were utterly impotent. They could have lied like Obama did about Single Payer and government transparency and NO ONE would have noticed. But she couldn’t even do that. Couldn’t even PRETEND to hear anyone out. It was baffling.
Additionally, Biden is basically braindead. So, I can’t quite fathom how you convince yourself that he’s running the country…or has been for a few years now.
I am not bullshitting you. You should try to see me as a mirror that you refused to look in throughout 2024 and should probably start to rethink the tribalism and two party bullshit you’re perpetuating.
The fight is and always has been the rich vs. the poor. We have lost major ground because we allowed identity politics to take hold. We signed away our country to corporations of the world…and the few of us that realize this are trying to wake you (otherwise intelligent) people up.
If you don’t see that, you’re lost and I’m wasting my time.
Huh? I showed how a simple change to US and UK election laws can topple the two party system overnight.
Literally, if there are only two private parties run by private organizations of rich people, they merely have to divide us and conquer us. We are being puppeteered by a bunch of corporations that use identity politics to keep the poor fighting amongst themselves and people SLURP THAT SHIT UP BECAUSE THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM CODIFIES IT INTO EVERY DECISION.
Feudalism with a few more steps.
Interesting point, though and I can see what you mean.
Truly, if my comment were to make a sense, I’d have to say they have “combined” and conquered.
It’s by design. Divide and conquer has been the playbook since they (anti-labor think tanks like the Progressive Policy Institute and others that seek to keep labor infighting) started studying group psychology.

Is strawman your blanket term for clearly worded points that others make that you disingenuously and smugly refuse to address?
If you don’t want me to appear in a thread and rant against you, don’t say vapid, anti-democratic, fascist boot-licking stuff like you did, expecting no one to even remotely challenge you on it.
In retrospect, maybe fascist, hyper censored social media is better for utterly fragile, unquestioning, intellectually lazy people like yourself that like to paint an entire “side” of the political spectrum as having “no empathy” while actually showing no one else any empathy in the first place.
Leave it to libs to take one small symbolic, easily reversed law and lean heavily on it to excuse the clear pattern of impotence and bloodthirstiness of an almost equally corrupt major power.
For me; my issues surround the environment, healthcare, education and workers rights here in the USA. Protection of the BWCA and the CHIPS act are of grave importance to me. A Harris administration would have protected these things.
Actually, Harris was basically president for four years with a Dem majority in congress and didn’t do shit about a single one of these things. How do you respond to that?
The healthcare one is hilarious. Kamala Harris is anti-Single Payer. She even had a fake single payer plan laid out in 2016 so filled with asterisks that it gave the American flag a run for its money for amount of stars.
Oh and worker’s rights? Stop telling jokes. She was part of the administration that made it illegal for rail workers to strike.
If I’m being charitable, you are in the TOP LEFT. Authoritarian left since you think others controlling what you see is ok. Thats called authoritarianism.
Did I say I wanted to be on Twitter? No. I left the day Elon Musk bought it.
I also abandoned Reddit for similar reasons.
I happen to hold the opinion that BlueSky users that subscribe to official block lists like yourself are hypocrites. You even allude to the fact that you by default assume that you’re better than most people because you mention spelling and grammar as barriers to entry. Did you know that there are poor people living in Alabama that didn’t get the same quality education as you? Do you know why? It’s BECAUSE you think they are subhuman and they look at your openly smug behavior (judging them based on their level of education) and reinforce your hatred. This all further reinforces the stupid tribalism. It’s so foolish. The true focus should be poor vs. rich in this country but we have educated douchebags like you that act so self-righteous and hateful to the less educated that they have no choice but to HATE YOU TO THE CORE.
You’re far more right wing and centrist than you may think you are if you’re not comfortable with other people’s opinions. Couple that with the fact that you’re lazy enough to leave the decision of who you should hear out to some anonymous, smug lib is enough for me to question everything you say.
Since you mention “water cooler conversations”, you should probably admit that your analogy is flawed unless you think the participants of social media should be chosen as employees are. A town square is a better analogy that your centrist myopia misses entirely. In a town square setting (like in an actual free country), each person has the right to express their opinions however they want.
Go hide in your corner and pretend that you care about anyone but yourself if it makes you happy, though. But please stop pretending that you are even remotely a leftist. You’re an 80’s style republican at best if you think that social media should have the same relationship to its users than an employer does to its employees.
Defederation from hexbear.net happened quickly and with very little debate. The mods on world ADORE censorship. They are almost worse than even the censorship on Reddit. If you’re too left or right wing for them, you’re going to have a very bad time. It’s forced centrism through putting up unavoidable blinders and it is the kneejerk reaction of that instance (and a few others).
Same with hexbear. They banned me for not being left wing enough. This behavior is more toxic than a place where all are allowed to communicate IN GOOD FAITH and are only censored or banned when it is ABSOLUTELY the only option to move forward. Hiveminds are bad. Banning people and defederation is utterly anathema to the intended purpose of the fediverse. Anyone who supports censorship should take a step back and think humbly and deeply about what they are doing, smugly preventing others from expressing their opinions.
Are you sure? In my experience, they defederate from each other.
To be enough of an unquestioning sheep to allow someone else to decide what you see and don’t see is a very smug centrist lib thing to do.
Dems (and I’m NOT one because I consider myself an actual leftist who supports free speech) tend to think that censorship is good. IMO, all it does is create more polarization and torpedoes any inroads we might’ve had toward coming to an understanding. But instead, they put on blinders and hide in their safe spaces, safe from hearing perspectives to the right OR left of theirs. It’s embarrassing and a HUGE reason why we have these insipid culture wars.
Did you consider voting for Kamala the right thing? Because, IMO, it was BARELY the right thing. She offered nothing other than Not Trump to her voters. To me, it was expected that people didn’t vote for her because she had no vision and ENTHUSIASTICALLY promised to continue the ongoing genocide. She even sent Bill Clinton to Michigan a week before the GE to tell the Muslims there that they should be OK with innocent pacifist members of their family being turned into a pink mist because of where they live.
If one of the only two possible parties that is supposed to be left leaning refuse to stand by leftist ideas, a two party sham election system is going to inevitably push any country with Citizens United straight into fascism.
Americans need to suffer at least for a short while to truly understand what they have done.

Wait until you realize that it’s not just Republicans….
I had one of these years ago. I used it as a baby monitor and got a full refund when I discovered that the camera had security issues that caused the whole internet to be able to watch, pan/tilt, talk back, etc to my (now ex wife) when she was breast feeding.
I actually like bots. What I don’t like are bots that decide what people say is true or not. You seem incapable of understanding the implications of such a stupid, fascist idea.
It’s been a while but this comment bugs me. I have a hate boner for a bot that pushes and even codifies partisan propaganda. You’re damned right I do.
What is authoritarian is allowing a partisan bot to “fact check”. Reminds me of this: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/9/8/16257502/verrit-peter-daou-aweseome
The right answer is to end the stranglehold. I live in a blue state, so being utterly unrepresented (and it not mattering much in the cogs of the machine) has been my default since 2016.
Honestly, my opinion of this country since our two party system installed Trump for the first time BECAUSE the Democrats flat out told us that they refuse to represent labor has been that of a sinking ship.
Bernie had more grassroots support than any candidate in my lifetime and was flat out cheated out of the nomination. Once they legally defended themselves against accusations of election fraud by saying they don’t need to be fair, I have FULLY checked out. And I tend to have a cynical laugh at anyone who hasn’t…
I continue, election cycle after election cycle trying to convince people that we are in a sham democracy and people laugh at me and ridicule me and block me and tell me how wrong I am while I watch Kamala do her best impression of Bush Sr. circa 1981 and Trump go off the Ted Nugent deep end SOLELY BECAUSE OF the utterly corrupt crop of democrats that are the standard in this country. By the way, corporate America loves to recruit minority sleeper cells to try and wokewash away their corporatism
It’s not new.
