Income taxes are withheld from the paycheck. The filing is largely unnecessary in the modern day and most people are getting refunds. The IRS offers tax ID numbers to people who don’t have social security numbers and they generally don’t care if you’re a citizen unless you try to claim something like the earned income tax credit. They literally just want to get paid.

Those are thousands. Other countries use periods like we use commas. The tell is 3 zeros instead of two.

Hmmm yes, they can go for a walk in a park. But they can’t use TANF, Medicaid, SSI/SSDI, SNAP, or anything else that requires means testing. While they do get taxes withheld from their paycheck. So they are actually paying for that park.

Yes some are on a cash only, under the table arrangement. But 100 billion dollars worth of them are not. Banks don’t require proof of citizenship, and states that aren’t busy trying to shoot themselves in the foot aren’t checking citizenship for work. So they get taxes, the immigrants get worker protections, and life goes on as normal.

Profits can go down slightly as long as it’s expected. The stock market is weird and the thing nobody likes is unexpected falling numbers. Stocks can maintain or even increase in value if the report matches the predictions and expectations. Even if that prediction is a slight lowering in profits.

Economists are also very aware of what they choose to keep fixed and what they choose to allow as a variable. It’s a science that’s incredibly easy to corrupt the results in. Which is why people really need to pay attention to who it’s giving the results.
