  • As was explained in the link I provided.

“Tabarnak” (or its variants) is a Quebecois French swear word. In essence, it’s a profanity that derives its power from its connection to the Catholic Church. The word is derived from “tabernacle,” which in the Catholic faith is the sacred vessel that contains the consecrated host, representing the body of Christ. In Quebec, where Catholicism once held significant sway over society, the word “Tabarnak” has evolved into a potent exclamation, used to express a range of emotions, from anger and frustration to astonishment and awe.

  • Making decisions based on fear alone is what’s causing deaths like the one on the train. If fear hadn’t griped him he would have recognized that once the dude stopped moving he could let go.

And before anyone comes at me here, I have done almost the same thing to a guy outside a bar. He was drunk as a skunk, had been beat up and was bleeding from a head wound, and wasn’t thinking clearly. I held him in a close-to a choke hold but was still worried if I let him go he’d turn around and clock me. But I still let him go after a few minutes. He did punch me (not in the face), then left it at that.

Too many are running on fear these days, including cops, and we don’t need it. It’s useless. If I, as a woman, can understand that and still do the ‘right’ thing, why can’t I expect a dude to do the same?

  • Winnipeg here … we were doing fine until this last Sunday when we got a shit ton of snow and last night it was -42C (almost the same in F) with the wind chill.

But summer and fall were both longer and warmer than usual. Forecasters up here are having some difficulty with predicting anything more than a day or two in advance.

  • So you would rather they get off unscathed instead?

In a similar deepfake porn case at a school in New Jersey, no charges were brought, and the alleged perpetrator does not appear to have suffered any academic or legal penalties. Dorotha Mani, a mother of one of the New Jersey victims, outlined her frustration with the leadership at her daughter’s school in approximately three pages of written testimony to Congress published in March. In that document, she called Westfield High School’s tepid response as “not only disheartening but also dangerous, as it fosters an environment where female students are left to feel victimized while male students escape necessary accountability.”
