Longlegs was such a disappointment to me. It was hyoed up and I thought it would be really great but it did not meet expectations.

I kinda regret buying it for PS4 now. I did however play it trough in a day or two so It’s not like i did not enjoy myself but I’ve been wanting years for it to come on PC and of course Rockstar is trying to scam me into buying it for a third time.

I get that but I’m pretty sure it’s a metaphor for what the character is trying to do. She is becoming a monster because she has to feel so good when in reality she feels like a monster.

Absolutely! I loved how the director worked with the wide-angle lenses so that you got much more out of the picture, it also made me feel sick to my stomach so many times… But yeah. The ending… What a shit fest lol, and not really in a bad way but a WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK kind of way. Note if you’ve seen her other movie, Revenge, it is kinda reminiscent of that. It’s a really bloody ending there as well and she apparently love that types of scenes. I also wonder if the bloody walls was a reference to The Shining, someone commented on this earlier in the thread but the hallway where she walks is totally a reference to that as well.

Haha! I would love to watch it again with friends… But I’m sure my friends are not going to like it (except one)… But I only want to watch it again with them to see their reactions…

One thing I was thinking about when watching this movie was that it reminded me a lot of the movie Requiem for a Dream. It touches on similar topics in terms of drugs that is used and how it changes the characters and makes them live for it.

Have the same question. It seems to be open source but if they wanted to they could make it closed source for sure…

I saw it last night. I thought it was much better than what I anticipated. It does however go in the Hollywood trap and makes it much more friendlier than it needed to be. The original is much, MUCH darker and that is what I love about it, and it don’t compromises and it hits you like a fist. But I also liked some additions they made like Ant trying to communicate with Agnes. I also did like the addition at the end, but I have a bit of a issue with it being to understandable, let people make their own mind about what is going on, and that’s something that is very hollywood about this movie.

I do think this version was not at all necessary, but money speak as always.

This is the same people that don’t get that the fires we’ve seen in many part of the world is also part of climate change. Why deny something that science has been telling us for decades at this point.

But we shouldn’t be supprised when politicians in the US are banning books that don’t align witb their world views. It’s pathetic.

Many good points here! I personally think The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th (2009) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) are pretty good remakes myself. I cannot say I’ve gone this deep into it like you have in your thought prosses, but I think they add some elements that makes it work. The story in these movies are maybe not worked on so much but they did a decent job at making these movies “modern” if you will.

I now see that I’m contradicting myself by what I wrote in my OP but my view is maybe a bit more nuanced than what I wrote there.

I’ve watched Baskin and I dunno, it’s fucked up for sure… But I feel like I’ve watched way much worse (as in fucked up) movies.

The Others is amazing and I remember being blown away by it when I watched it. Totally love it!

The new Boogyman was probably one of my favorite more last year. It actually made me really get into it and i felt it wasn’t all jumpscare like many horror movies do today. I love horror movies that build it up and takes it time.

Talk to me… Omg what a great flix. I think I have to watch it again. I’m looking forward to see what comes next from the director.

Oh and Antichrist. Wow, that movie was such a mixed bag for me. I really liked it until the ending, but I won’t go into spoiler territory. It’s definitely one of the more fucked up movies I’ve seen, but I wouldn’t say it’s really that bad.

By the way, if you’re into Lars Von Trier then The House that Jack built is pretty good as well. And if you’re interested in something that is not horror related Melancholia is a great movie, but it might be a hard watch if you’re not to patient. The reason I love it is because it truly shows how depression can be.
