Well the polls, surveys, questionnaires and polls; that’s not got much polls in it.

Yeah sure, there definitely has been a history of bias in favor of British drivers and teams by Sky - no question. But they’ve also damn near revered Max as god since his first race in F1, so I don’t totally buy his logic there.
Moreover, I think Newey is discounting the fact that people just have a strong tendency to root for the underdog or root for the fall of the king. Vettel was despised during his reign, as was Hamilton, and now largely the same with Max.
Not completely by my own choice, but I feel like I’ve seen National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation - at least in part - once or more per holiday season since it was released.
The same is true of Elf, but obviously that movie is quite a bit more recent.
For movies I’ve watched the most by my own choice, it’s probably the Kill Bills or Inglorious Basterds, but those have got to be way behind in raw count. Goonies and the Back to the Future series probably have honorable mentions because of how long they’ve been around and continue to be a fun watch.
Except capitalism could otherwise be called “Greed: The Game”
Capitalism takes greed and puts it to work as the center of an economic system. While greed has either destroyed or deformed communism any time it’s been tried at scale, there’s 100% no separating greed from capitalism - they’re inexorably linked.
I mean, he paid with his life. And he suffered longer too.
“Take the Princess and the Wookie to my ship.”
I guess James Earl Jones, Carrie Fisher, and Peter Mayhew can now all ride together.
As the saying goes, “the opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.”
Elon/Tesla designed this truck to be controversial, to generate discussion, and engagement. The best way to disengage from exactly what this thing was designed to do is not to meme about it, it’s to ignore it completely.
I see plenty of them around here on the road, but I also see endless regurgitating of this shit online. I kinda get it what it’s boomers on Facebook, but I expect the Lemmy crowd to get tired of the same joke after seeing it the nth time. Guess I place too much confidence in you all.
The worst fate a car that begs for attention can suffer is fading to obscurity. Why keep giving Elon all the attention and engagement he wants? Ignore the stupid thing.
Lol, coming from a whole gaggle who can’t stop but breathlessly “educating” others why the Cybertruck is terrible.
I’m on your side, it’s fucking horrendous. But Jesus, it was clearly designed to grab attention. Why keep giving Elon what he wants?
Point to me on this doll where the Cybertruck touched you.
Ugh, we’re still at this? Folks that claim to have their eyes melt out of their face every time they see a Cybertruck sure spend a lot of time posting pictures of them online.
I see about 100 of these hurr-durr cybertruk dum posts for every one I see out on the road. Funny that 99% of the Cybertruck I see is coming from the “haters”.
There’s a lot of exciting changes happening and coming in the next few years that seem to have potential to keep the sport interesting / unpredictable.
The way this season started, I never would have expected to get to this point in the season with 7 different race winners, a team threatening to take the lead in the WCC from Red Bull, and at least one driver with a reasonable shot at taking down Max Verstappen.
Hopefully the next few years can be at least as interesting.
That combined with it being able to lock weapons onto multiple targets simultaneously, and also being quite stealthy so it can do these things way before the targets even know it’s coming.
If I learned anything from the movies, it’s gonna be a chianti.
Can’t speak for the security or that extension - I tried it once several years ago and immediately ran into the same problems. Since then, I’ve used JDownloader2, which is a standalone app, on both windows and Linux Mint. Works great for me.
Feels like a bunch of manufactured drama over this. It was a clean pass, and Norris was never able to even put a serious challenge to Leclerc, let alone Piastri afterward. McLaren has been open at saying their drivers have been allowed to race. Sure, from a team perspective it’s a bit unfortunate that Piastri’s move caused Norris to back off enough that he allowed Leclerc through, but since there were no team orders otherwise, Piastri did exactly what he’s supposed to do.
One is the presidential nominee of the Republican party, the other is a has-been hack columnist. These two things are not the same.
Leader of a gang responsible for a sizeable portion of the evil shit that has happened in world history says people should think about supporting someone who is less evil.
Okay, guess your followers should switch to Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Atheism, or any other of a big handful of less-evil -isms to choose from than Catholicism.
