The zone has long been crowded by Palestinians seeking refuge from bombardment, but the situation grows more dire by the day, as waves of evacuees arrive and food and water grow scarce.
Concentration camps. We’re talking about concentration camps. (Not a holocaust camp like Auschwitz (yet), ‘just’ a military-enforced ghetto like Theresienstadt.)
Edit: There were no gas chambers in Theresienstadt and executions were relatively rare; however most prisoners were eventually deported to Auschwitz or elsewhere to be killed, or died of malnutrition, typhoid etc. The overall survival rate of prisoners who had been to the ghetto was around 16 %. Ironically, many deports happened before the infamous Red Cross audit of 1944, to prevent them from finding signs ofn’t find any humanitarian crisis.
In my opinion, the best thing Hamas could do is disband and end the war on the condition that Palestine becomes a country with borders and a democratically elected government. However, neither will agree to that, as Israel thinks it’s colonizing a savage land.
