There’s this content creator, Joltzdude139. Does everything Borderlands, with a special focus on the BL2. Super wholesome. Engaging to listen to. Lots of knowledge. Basically a superfan.
Gearbox gave him free tickets.
He FLEW out to see the premiere.
He dropped a review, first half of video no spoilers, and summarized the experience in a couple sentences, which I’ll paraphrase:
“It had some good parts! The Claptrap humor was totally on point! I’m probably never going to watch it again though. I was so excited.”
That alone told me all I needed to know.
“It had some good parts! The Claptrap humor was totally on point! I’m probably never going to watch it again though. I was so excited.”
Damning with faint praise
I never even heard they were making the movie lol. Doubtful I would have gone to see it, but literally not knowing it existed probably didn’t help it
The first announced it back in 2015 and it took 9 years for it to eventually come out.
Well shit, there’s your problem!
It feels like at this point it’s all about just shitting on it as much as possible, to bait people into buying it with the mentality of “what’s all this hoohaa, was it really that bad”, when it shortly releases on streaming platforms.
I mean… I was planning on getting a torrent myself, but there’s plenty of people who will still fork out money for it.
Yeahhh… I mean I agree that’s the hope but have you seen anyone try to hate watch this? It’s pretty miserable apparently.
I saw someone say they ate a huge edible going in and was excited for how bad it would be and then 2 hours later came back saying it ruined their high.
Hate watching it means people need to at least share it out of hate this is just sad.
i watched morbius while high. fell asleep 3 times
Oh my god could we get them to re-release this movie to theaters too?
It deserves the kicking it got but I do hope this doesn’t make the studios too risk-averse.
From what I heard, this is the result of risk aversion. The poor editing is because they cut out a lot of the violence that was shot and didn’t have anything to fill the runtime with, hence the reshoots. I can’t wait for the inevitable What Happened on this film to see how bad it was.
