I got these Hanes x-temp things that several years ago that were the best I’d ever had, but they’ve changed them up so they’re mostly plasticy now.
it’s expensive buying different brands to find when you like, what have you all found? bonus points if you live in a place we’re going outside inevitably means swamp crotch
Armachillo from Duluth Trading Co. A bit too tight around the waist after I gained about 10lbs for a medium, but best I’ve owned so far. They stay up, elastic doesn’t wear out, the colors don’t fade, and they don’t trap a ton of heat.
Get the ones with “the bullpen”. It’s a layer to keep your junk from sticking to your thigh. It’s pretty great.
All citizens is amazing if you live in a hot climate and are well endowed. I’ve really enjoyed mine, and they have breathable mesh EVERYWHERE that’s made them amazing for this incredibly hot summer. My balls are never swampy wearing them. They’re also a pouch based underwear which my doctor recommended to me after having some issues around my balls with stress tension.
They have great colors, and they’re super soft and they stay in place with this weird thigh band thing. I love them and after buying a test pair bought like 12 more for my whole wardrobe. Cotton was out of the question due to how much it creates that swamp feeling. Paired with linen shorts or linen pants and I can bear the Cali Valley heat a bit more.
what is that about stress tension affecting your balls?
For day in, day out boxer briefs I go with Gildan. Especially for the price. I keep some Calvin Klein on hand because I like to feel fancy sometimes. But I will readily recommend the Gildan. I have big thighs and they will stretch by the end of the day but the elastic does its job until I take them off.
I like Saxx, especially when I’m out running or doing yard work. Breathable, got a ball pouch, stops the thighs chafing.
Saxx is the best. Expensive, but perfect
David archy. I get them on Amazon. I find them more comfortable than saxx.
I just bought two pairs of Pair of Thieves brand boxer briefs at target with the pouch. I bought them specifically to wear on a long flight. It’s more comfortable than I expected, and does make a difference on warm days. Everything gets a little separation and some air-flow. They are more expensive, so I reserve them for special occasions.
I have some jogger/pajama pants by them and they are really comfy.
Warning: Expensive, worth it, but expensive.
They’re expensive in upfront costs, but I think they’re more cost effective in the long run. I’m a husky guy who runs hot, so all the regular Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, etc. stuff would wear out yearly - I’d get tears between the thighs or dead elastic in the waistband - and get wicked swampy.
I think the oldest of my buck naked boxer briefs are about 5 years old now and are still going strong. They cut down on swamp ass too.
If you keep an eye out, they go on sale pretty regularly, so I’d grab a couple pairs here and there and over time replaced all my underwear with them.
Absolutely agreed, and I’ll dig through the underwear drawer to find another pair than choose another brand.
I think the ball pouch is the biggest improvement in underwear since boxer briefs. The only problem is that they don’t seem to make a cotton version.
I’m not currently in the market, but if anyone makes cotton boxer briefs with a ball pouch, with a fly, I’d replace all my underwear tomorrow.
dude, right? for the rest of my body I’ve found things more comfortable than cotton, but there’s nothing better than cotton for a ball pouch. everybody’s out here cranking out rayon and polyester
Oof.
That would be an expensive dozen.
Thanks, though. I’ll definitely give them a shot.
They are indeed unfortunately expensive. I’d start with one and if they’re as perfect as you’re looking for, just do the slow replacement. I just buy one every time an existing pair of old undies starts getting too old and eventually you are all set.
I live in Florida so I get the swamp crotch concerns. My answer? All Citizens. All the way. I was a boxers guy forever because I hated how boxer briefs felt. Riding up all the time, squeezed my junk in uncomfortable ways. All Citizens converted me because they fixed all of this. They’re now my favorite underwear and I’ve basically replaced my drawer with them.
For note, I tried All Citizens, Pair of Thieves, Tommy John, and BN3TH. All Citizens blew them all out of the water. Their Elite line is solid for the price. Their Apex are my favorite though, but also the priciest. They have some anti radiation lining in the ball pouch and silver fabric that apparently reduces odor in the Apex line. Personally I think that’s just marketing bs, but the ball pouch is noticeably comfier than the Elite line. Overall, I don’t think you can go wrong regardless of what you pick. Highly recommend.
lol I looked them up and it just says “space suit quality odor control”. I’m guessing it’s just copper ions?
I think they’re just referring to the silver lined fabric they’re using? Again I dunno, it’s probably just marketing bs, but shit’s comfy, I’ll tell you that.
I basically don’t even notice I’m wearing it most of the time because of how form fitting it is, which good underwear should feel like imo
I got some Nike dri fit in both cotton and the wicking ones and they are the best boxers I’ve worn in a long time
there’s this great brand called going commando
I bought a couple 6 packs of champion boxer briefs from Costco over a year ago and they are great. So great I got some more.
I think $15, moisture wicking, they stay tight and not loose.
do you sweat a lot? I’m in the fucking Everglades
It keeps me dry where I need to be dry, if that’s what you’re asking 😂
okay good. it doesn’t matter if the briefs can keep my balls off my leg if it can’t keep my balls off my balls
I haven’t tried many brands but I think I prefer Gildan over Hanes.
Do you get Schiesser in the US? They aren’t cheap, a pack of 3 is like $50, but the 100% cotton ones are so amazing, I’ll never wear anything else ever again.
I’ve really enjoyed the Uniqlo AIRism line. Only downside is that the regular length ones can ride up the leg a bit, but not the low-rise ones. They’re missing the ball pouches that some other brands have but for me it’s been fine. Nice balance between affordable and comfortable.
