Apparently so, I’ll admit the story in the first game wasn’t the most gripping, but if they could make a decent movie following it, then the sequel would be a guaranteed success. Instead no, they pulled characters from all over the place completely disregarding the established lore looking for a quick cash grab throwing enough star power to hopefully draw in people who didn’t play the games.
Incredibly disappointing.
Street Fighter the movie is honestly one of the best things ever put to film. It’s just so bad and campy, it manages to circle back to ‘fucking awesome’. I can’t help but watch it when it’s on somewhere.
Bad videogame movie adaptations are back on the menu, boys!

My whole childhood it was bad videogames made in the wake of movie/show hits. Not glad to see it goes the other way as well.

To a lesser degree, Alone in the Dark does the same loop but slower to get back to “fucking awesome”.
