Chickens are kinda notorious for cannibalism. I had some for a summer and that was happily the leading cause of death, especially when we first got them.

Yup people picture then as purely vegetarian or only eat bugs… I’ve seen one kill and eat the insides of a rat.
People who don’t believe birds are dinosaurs have not watch some birds closely enough. Including chickens.
