My husky is like this most of the time. Follows me everywhere but just to be in the same room. If she wants cuddles, she will demand them by scratching me and grabbing my hand with her mouth.
Mine doesn’t cuddle, only takes belly rubs. I should have gotten a normal breed lmao.

The other wants to be cuddled 25h/day.
This is 100% my cat. She’s an adorable gremlin who I can tell absolutely loves me, but she’s also figured out exactly how long my reach is and will always settle down on a nearby piece of furniture JUST out of touch. Little rascal.
Long time ago i had a cat like this. He would come to the door, visibly happy to see me, but no touchy.
Never … When picking him up, he melted away. When trying to touch him, he was like when you try to bring two magnets together using the same poles.
But he was always right next to me.
Cats are just very autistic :)

Neither of my cats are like this. One is an absolute attention whore. If I’m sitting here always wants to be on my lap. At dinner he watches until I lean back (indicating I’m done) and then will try to jump on my. He’s sweet but very smothering.

They’re pack animals. You’re their pride… And their shame!
My cat will knead and then perch herself on my stomach. But don’t I dare lay a finger on her or she’ll move to the chair. 🤷♂️
This applies to my dog as well.
