Yeah, imo they fumbled at the start very bad but all these continuous updates really made it one of the rare open universe space games.

Releasing in that state shouldn’t count as a fumble. I’m certainly glad the game has turned around and wish no ill on Sean or the team…

But the game absolutely deserved all the bad press it got and Sean did lie to the public multiple times.

For introspections sake, I’d have probably folded like a paper crane and made the exact same mistake, give the pressure he was under but he’s only avoided the permanent moniker of “This Gen’s Molyneux” because the team bunkered down and delivered on his promises.

Games were over hyped, released buggy, and lacking a ton of features long before no mans sky, nms was just one of the most over hyped - it’s also by far the biggest redemption since it now has significantly more content than was ever promised at launch, and all of it has come free instead of in a ton of dlc’s or with monetization

I’ve heard that it went from being embarrassingly bad to actually really good. Is there a good video that can elaborate on that for me?

They’ve added so much since launch. Entirely new systems from base and ship building to full questlines. The new update improved the world generation and hoo boy is it pretty. I will say the amount of pollen on some the planets is melting my GPU.

Five or six years ago I used to be able to get 30 fps on low graphics with one or two mods to reduce the load on the GPU. Now I can’t even break 15 FPS without lowering the resolution to unusable levels. What gives? Same setup and everything.

You had an out of date pc five years ago and you want to know why the same pc runs bad today?

It’s time for an upgrayedd my friend.

I’ve always thought this game looked like shit.

Doesn’t it only go up to 4 players or something? What a weird limit for such a large game. I guess the devs just weren’t skilled enough to raise it any higher.

        🥱

Did I criticize the thing you like? Pardon me for not keeping up with updates for shitty games before criticizing them.

You’re also wrong: “The game can currently be played by multiple people together online in parties of 2 to 4 players.”

You can play as a group/team of four, but the game can display up to 32 players in the same area simultaneously, which is quite more likely to happen during expeditions.

Using a fucking outdated wiki as your “evidence” while acting like bloody Sherlock Holmes?!? Could you be a bigger ass?

          From the actual game website:

“Experience up to 32 player multiplayer when you summon the social hub, the Space Anomaly, from anywhere in the universe. Form a group, go on inter-galactic missions together or visit each other’s bases.”

Why are you so upset? I just did a quick google search and that’s what came up. Am I supposed to do actual research for a shitty game? No, I don’t care that much.

Also, they aren’t very clear about whether or not you can actually group up with 32 players, only summon them in a “social hub.”

The gameplay loop is tremendously boring, too. I have no idea how they did that, since it’s basically the same as Minecraft.
