      Take two bought the game, no?

      Also: the devs went to work at valve it’s not like they can’t physically talk to the single most powerful person capable of resolving this if I’m wrong on point #1

        It’s not that Take Two bought the game, they bought the publisher of the game. The devs wanted to submit an update, which they normally would do by sending it to their publisher. But now their publisher no longer exists, so they send they want to send their update to Take Two, but apparently some red tape is in the way.

          Why does gaming even need publishers? Unlike books or movies the number of sales outlets seems rather small, usually in the single digits.
