Usually it is the same person who post them, if you are bothered by them, just block those two or three users and you won’t ever be bothered by them again.
Personally I hesitated to allow them at first, but it gives a bit more diversity to the community posts, and it doesn’t seem to be a bad things. For now I don’t think it is too much, even with two posters (the original and his… sidekick? 😆), but if the community subscribers start to down-vote it to hell (like was yours), then I’ll ask both of them to redirect those post to a dedicated community, like https://feddit.uk/c/photomode, linked by @Zahille7@lemmy.world
Hi, I’m the original guy (or as far as i believe i am). Just to give confirmation to what you said, If ever people get tired of the posts or mods would just prefer i take them elsewhere, just let me know and I’ll move them without any argument
Thanks for your helpful thoughts on blocking :) I’m not that bothered by them, I just find them very boring and wanted to have some fun with this format. Boy, did other people here not find that funny xD makes this entertaining in a different, kind of sad way, I guess. Everybody taking everything so seriously.
Maybe you think they’re lame because those are screenshots of an actual game being rendered in realtime, and not just a picture someone drew for a visual novel with some text over it.
But, if you really want to compare the artistic value of a screenshot of a game, one is equivalent to going out in the world with a camera and composing a photo of your natural surroundings, while the other is the equivalent of typing “anime girl” into google images and saving one of them.
I was just annoyed by all those (lame, imho) Screenshot posts, I agree 😅 sometimes a little shade doesn’t hurt, though
They aren’t lame. The main person usually has some good shits in their posts.
Like they’re framed decently and it’s not just a random screen from their game like you posted.
The content of that screen is perfection, dude
I enjoy them; they’re a small, mundane, humanising element in a sea of (often bad) news or game trailer links in my feed.
Though I also appreciate the parody.
Thanks for balancing the dichotomy, my man

Maybe crosspost to that other community too. It may help revive it.
i went ahead and subscribed just now. I’ll crosspost my post tonight there

I sometimes understand the annoyance of poor content, but in Lemmy that’s a motivator to go put up better content.
I objectively did put up better content! I’m posting content on lemmy, I’m a savior, light some incense and inhale deeply, guys

Funny that you would call rendered content more valuable than hand-crafted art
It’s even funnier that no, I didn’t.
