What’s really fucked is how close the polls are still after everything.

I mean I guess the debate can’t hurt trump since his followers immediately discard anything he does wrong/bad as fake news or conspiracy.

But Jesus man when is enough enough

He could have dropped his pants, taken off his diaper and shit on the stage at the debate, and he wouldn’t have a lost a single vote from his base.

The polls are, of course, measuring the opinions of ONLY the people who still have landline telephones.

Addressing the “Landline Only” Polling Myth

I set out to analyze FiveThirtyEight’s collection of 400+ primary polls from the past year, closely inspecting their results and methodologies. It didn’t take long to realize that poll participants were actually reached a variety of ways. These included calling cell and landline numbers as well as contact via the internet, text, and traditional mail. So as far as the “landline only” controversy was concerned, that myth was quickly debunked.

A while back, during the election campaign here in the UK, I saw someone talking about how disproportionate reporting by centre/left news outlets on how well the right leaning parties were doing was really good for reminding their audience that a Labour win was not a given and that their vote mattered.

In the case of the US, I think there’s a good amount of that, as well as large a scoop of cope from the right leaning news orgs. Cherry picking their sources means that outlets can present the polling as close, which flies better in the headlines.

Or all that is bollocks, and the US really is a gibberish shitshow.

It’s been said before. These debates are a show for the die-hards, but they’re not really influencing folks on the outside. If you were a Trumpie before the debates, what did he say to turn you off? Its the same Trump Show he’s been running for nine years. If you were a Bidencrat, what has Harris done except restate the Biden agenda without drooling and falling asleep in the middle of the debate?

The “undecided” voters are either people disgusted by both candidates, in which case the real question is going to be whether they vote third party / turn out at all, or they’re not paying attention to the Politics Show right now and just waiting for Joe Rogan / Oprah Winfrey to tell them who to vote for on election day.

But Jesus man when is enough enough

The country is full of fascists. Once you accept that, Trump’s sustained popularity makes more sense.

A revolution will surely make things better, then!

Well her voters are telling people to vote for her no matter what too so it goes both ways. If Walz wasn’t her running mate I wouldn’t be voting for her.
