Possibly the greatest man to ever be elected to the office of President. Certainly the greatest in the modern era.

It’ll always be a shame that his reputation tanked during his own presidency, especially since his replacement was fucking Reagan

He fucked up big time by shutting down nuclear reprocessing. The effect on proliferation is negligible and we still don’t know what the hell to do with huge amounts of mixed-material waste.

France, Finland, and South Korea have far more sustainable nuclear programs.

Recently learned that it was his administration that gutted and destroyed the truckers union so I stop with giving him so much praise now. Truck drivers are now making minimum wage because of deregulation.

I’m sorry, but no. I will say that Jimmy has done great things with his time post presidency, but his actual administration was so flawed it led to a Reagan landslide. You should check out this documentary about the Iran hostage crisis, Carter is a direct factor in the start of the Iranian revolution that has turned it in to a theocracy.

I’m a leftist so I want to like him, I really do. But frankly the more I read, watch and learn about the Carter administration the more I understand how we were afflicted with a “Reagan Revolution”. Jimmy had good intentions and was/is a good man, but his failures is a big reason democrats shifted to centrism with Clinton.

I didn’t say he was a great president. I said he was the greatest man elected president.

I shouldn’t have been so cryptic… I was speaking more to his decency as a human.
