“In a filing Thursday, Smith’s office asked U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan to allow the parties until Aug. 30 to propose next steps. If the request is granted, it would give prosecutors three more weeks to consult with other parts of the Justice Department on a way forward in a case that focuses on Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.”

The expectation is that this will be appealed and the Judge removed from the case.

The E. Jean Carroll trial for sexual assault and defamation where Trump was found liable and ordered to pay $5 million before immediately defaming her again resulting in a demand for $10 million is not listed as it’s a civil case and not a crimimal one. He was found liable in that case for $83.3 million.
There had been multiple cases in multiple states to remove Trump from the ballot, citing ineligibility under the 14th amendment.
The Supreme Court ruled on March 4th that states do not have the ability to determine eligibility in Federal elections.
The pure amount of these cases is just mountainous. It is extremely hard to wrap your head around how much one man can get caught with. Mobsters dont even sport conviction records like this.
And it’s light. There’s so much more he could be charged with.
There’s so much more he should be charged with.
I dont understand how sedition is so hard to place on this man.
The Supreme Court legalized it, but just for him
The Supreme Court says he has immunity for official actions.
Yeah but, when the courts spew pure insanity, do we really have to listen? I would say a sane and just society would have thrown them out too by now.
There is only one process to remove a Supreme Court Justice and that’s impeachment.
The House is controlled by Republicans so an impeachment can’t even get started.
There are two processes, but one is a crime.
I like the term “The Franklin Alternative”. It’s obscure enough to not get anyone in trouble, and yet it sounds official by invoking Ben Franklin. :)
Unless it’s an official act
God damn it Jack, you had months to be ready for this, what a time to get Garland’s disease!
Honestly, at this point I want them delayed till after the election. Putting him in court right before the election is just gunna rally his base to vote which could be the difference in the swing states
