The ACP Texas chapter met up in Austin to restore the home of Florence, an 81-year-old cancer survivor and life-long local community volunteer. She is a beloved member of the community who has run a charity for 30 years called ‘Florence’s Comfort House’, dedicated to helping children receive higher education and grow up in a safe environment.
Florence selflessly stepped up to the plate to meet the needs of her community when existing institutions all but left Montopolis behind and continues to do so despite her health challenges. In honor of her many sacrifices, and in an effort to extend our resources to this community, ACP TX decided to assist Florence in revitalizing & maintaining her home. We draw inspiration from community members like Florence, whose cause is noble and in common with the #AmericanCommunistParty.
